Maybach Exelero and the possibility of a future Maybach sports car.

The Maybach Exelero is a two-door, two-seat coupe-style sports car introduced in May 2005 by the German Daimler brand Maybach (when it was an independent brand).

This characteristically styled Maybach Exelero was a one-off concept car built to promote the Exelero 23-inch high-performance tyre developed by tire manufacturer Fulda, making it a unique two-door coupe for a company that at the time only offered a luxury saloon.

In order to test the physical limits of the tyres, the Maybach Exelero significantly upsized the performance of the ultra-luxury Maybach 57 on which it was based and was powered by a 5.9-litre V12 twin-turbo engine with a maximum power output of 700 PS, a maximum torque of 1020 Nm and a maximum speed of 0-100 km/h. h acceleration in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 351 km/h was finished to a high performance.

Only one Exelero exists, and with a price tag of around $8 million, it is one of the most expensive cars in the world.

Maybach was once defunct as a Daimler brand and has since been reincarnated as Mercedes-Benz’s ultra-luxury brand Mercedes-maybach, but as of now, there is no supersport model like the Exelero on the market.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 and its convertible version, the Cabriolet, were announced in 2016 as concept cars, and perhaps a luxury supersport based on these concept cars will be released in the future.
